In a bold statement of its commitment to elevate the profile of the residential cleaning industry, trade association, The Association of Residential Cleaning Services International (ARCSI) has brought back one of its stalwarts to lead it forward. Alison Palmer, founder of Virginia Beach house cleaning company Custom Maid has agreed to step further out of retirement to help drive the residential cleaning industry forward.Palmer's credentials span across 4 decades leading Custom Maid from a 1-person operation to one that employs over 30 cleaning professionals in the Hampton Roads area. Custom Maid's success is widely praised and its methods have been modeled by many throughout the industry.
"The cleaning industry has come a long way over the past few decades," states Palmer. "Even more so in recent years since my last stint (2008-2010) as President of ARCSI's Board. Technological advances not only in the cleaning products we use, but the marketing mediums required to connect with one’s audience have left so many cleaning business owners in a lurch."
Palmer continues, "ARCSI provides that element of support and structure so desperately needed by so many hard working residential cleaning companies. And with the help of ARCSI's Board, I aim to expand our effectiveness in helping our members while raising the profile and professionalism of the industry as well."
About Alison Palmer
Alison Palmer cleaned her first house for a woman in Virginia Beach back in May of 1985 and has since built Custom Maid into the largest independent cleaning service in Hampton Roads.
Now mostly retired, Alison enjoys an active private life while continuing to lead her industry as she serves a 2nd (non-contiguous) term as the President of ARCSI's Board of Directors.
