When Laffe is tempted to join young baboons teasing their father; he corrects his impulse to laugh because he knows what it feels like to be bullied. Laffe’s innocent moral values and virtues come as a shock to his new pals but brings new hope that they too can learn to stand up to bullying. More than 13 million students are bullied each year, according to the U.S. Department of Education. Additionally, some 160,000 students stay home from school each day because of bullying according to the National Education Association (NEA)”.

Our mission is to produce sweet children’s nature books and if this series helps even one child who suffers from bullying at school, then mission accomplished. Happy kids don’t bully so let’s celebrate anti bullying together and reinforce that positive change is possible with children.

This is the first book Beavers has authored. His aim is to help prevent bullying at school by teaching children moral values and virtues at an early age.

“There’s also particular excitement about this launch because it is our first work of love about fictional animal characters acting out and how to get along in scary, unfriendly environments”, states Toby Beavers. A story of an innocent juvenile giraffe who always encounters trouble. He is a victim of physical and emotional abuse from siblings yet capable of stopping bullying through kindness. “Kindness starts with you,” Laffe tells his pals.

The book’s fabulous water color artwork was created by Terri Beavers, a noted New York designer. “Friends Don’t Bully Friends” is released by TnT Publishers llc.

When asked about why he wrote the book, Beavers replied: “I want to write books that not only teach but bring laughter and good-wholesome humor back!” Beavers has hopes that his anti-bullying messages will make children throughout the world laugh and giggle when reading his hilarious children’s animal ebooks. Bullying at school is a big no-no so let’s end this together by getting quality bullying books for kids into every parent’s hand at an affordable price.

In a recent interview, the author made a point of thanking his beloved, deceased pets: Flower the skunk; Mr. Peabody, Bandit, Blaze, Fat Cat, Pup-Pup and ZuZu for their part in the creation of these happy Amazon children’s nature books.

AUTHOR BIO

Toby Beavers loves ALL animals, especially giraffes. He always wanted a baby giraffe as a child when growing up in New York City, but NO! Instead, he received a six-foot stuffed giraffe that he could climb on. It eventually surrendered to Toby’s increasing weight and went mysteriously missing when he returned home from school one day – thanks Mom!

A lifelong naturalist, Toby led an adventure-packed expedition to catch birds and insects in the Amazon with backing from the Smithsonian Institute. Children’s manners and morals are important to learn at a young age. Toby Beavers grew up in New York City with 3 brothers. All three brothers including his father bullied each other endlessly. “My father, having lived through the Great Depression, was old-school and believed belittling someone in front of others was the way to mold them into a ‘stronger’ man. The ubiquitous Sunday family meal was the worst! Every day I arrived home from school my first question to my mother was, ‘are you going out tonight?’ There were no bullying books for kids on the market. In fact, many of the books were about and encouraged bullying.”

Beavers was sent to boarding school at 13 and was quite small in stature. His wild, unhinged sense of humor made him the perfect target for older kids to bully and beat on. As he grew older and wiser, he finally learned how to stand up to bullying.

Today, Toby lives in Charlottesville with his wife, Terri, and spends his days gardening and writing funny anti-bullying books for parents, teachers and early beginner readers.
