Albert Usumanu is a recognised graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law. Over 20 years of defending clients and making sure that Justice is served. Practiced in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and Minnesota Federal District Court. . This recognition is, in part, a result of Usumanu’s work within the criminal defense law arena, defending the people of Minnesota.


Usumanu, a native of Minneapolis, MN, has been involved with the criminal defense law world for over 20 years, getting his start at the Mitchell Hamline School of law and went on to practice in the MN Supreme Court, the Fourth, Tenth, Eight and Federal District Courts of MN. In response to a question on the driving force behind his success, Usumanu has explained how it really boiled down to his faith and the drive to see justice served.

Reflecting on the recognition Usumanu is quoted as saying: “My promise is simple: I will make sure that justice is done. Your justice.”


In a recent one-to-one interview, Usumanu reminisced on other past achievements, which helped build momentum towards the present day. Notably, one of the proudest achievements was practicing in the following courts, Minnesota Supreme Court, Fourth, Tenth, Eighth and Federal District Courts of MN.


In the same interview, Usumanu stated his intentions for the future. The primary goal for the next 12 months, Usumanu states, will be will be to defend the defenseless and to make sure that justice is done.. Looking farther ahead, the aim is the ultimate goal for the future is to continue to represent and defend MN clients in criminal defense lawsuits.


When asked more personally about how they want to be perceived and remembered, Usumanu said: “I would want to be remembered for standing up for justice.”
