The tour is dedicated to offering guests an exceptional tour which maximizes the opportunity of seeing the Aurora Borealis/Northern Lights. Technical knowledge to assist in taking memorable photos is provided to those who want to have visible proof of the Northern Lights experience. Fairbanks Aurora Tours carefully selects the locations from night to night for the best chance of seeing Nature's Light Show based on weather forecasts.According to Aaron Lojewski, "We now have available a Nikon D610 rental package that includes everything you need to take great pictures of the Northern Lights during the Alaska Aurora tour. This is the same camera that I took most of the shots on our website with. All you need to bring is an SD memory card or buy an inexpensive one off of us and you are all set to go with a tripod, lenses, and all. Online availability is shown on the booking calendar."
“We offer ground tours out of Fairbanks to find clear skies, get away from light pollution, avoid crowded areas, and most importantly view, photograph, and experience the Aurora" he continues. "On nights when the Aurora display is especially vibrant, we may stay out until the display stops. On such nights the tour could return later than advertised."
The Fairbanks Northern Lights tour occurs daily during the months of August to April. Participants are picked up at their hotels between nine and ten pm and return to their lodging between three and four am. The mobile tour gives the tour guide the ability to choose the spots based on favorable weather forecasts and cloud cover. Small group sizes make it possible for participants to receive personalized hands-on technical training on how to take photos of the Northern Lights.
