Talkaroo Academy is a pioneer online school that guides moms on how to get their toddlers to start talking.
So instead of the traditional one-on-one therapy session with the therapist training the child, this school actually teaches the parent/ caretaker that spends 7 days a week with this child! They have figured out a way to teach moms in an easy step-by-step approach. The course has short videos that progress from teaching the caretaker how to get their child to imitate the simplest actions and finishing with videos on how to get the child to imitate specific early words.
Talkaroo Academy uses a holistic way of teaching and combines the skills of a speech pathologist and a special educator in a way that is easy to follow. These licensed therapists have close to 30 years of combined experience in the field of early childhood.
Progress is there typically almost immediately. They called their entry course the “Toddler Speech Boost 14 Day Challenge.”
This challenge focuses on guiding the mother to teach her toddler to imitate actions, “B” sound and words that start with the “B” sound. In addition , they added bonus videos on how to get toddlers to maintain attention to their mothers, how to set up the room so the child is not distracted and how to get them to focus better.

According to the Talkaroo Academy childhood experts, the expected milestones for speech are as follows:
By 18 months – a child is expected to produce an average of 15 words
By 24 months -a child is expected to produce a minimum of 50 words and start 2-word combinations
By 2 ½ years old – a child is expected to produce 3-5 word phrases and some sentences
If a child’s communication delay is left without any intervention/help, it will lead to “2 to 5 times higher risk for language impairment persisting into the late preschool to elementary school years”.
