Ballroom Dance in NYC has today made public 3 as yet unreleased facts about its Upper East Side private ballroom dance lessons, known as the ‘Wedding Dance Special’. Engaged couples that plan to host a dance reception on their wedding day may learn more by calling in or visiting the Ballroom Dance in NYC website.

The 3 items include nuggets such as how:

1) The idea for creating the Wedding Dance Special came about after receiving more inquiries from engaged couples to get ballroom dance lessons. Founder Andrey Stanev noticed a growing need to reduce the stress for couples surrounding their wedding day by giving them confidence that their first dance would be a big hit with guests. Stanev explains:

“As the popularity of social media blew up, more newly wedded couples, their friends, and their families started posting videos from wedding receptions for all of the world to see. A wedding video is no longer something that you watch a few times during your lifetime and only show to a few select people. Clips from weddings are shown to thousands of people on Facebook, Instagram, and other sites. Naturally, couples want to look great for their first dance. They want to dance like stars, because they are!”

2) The Wedding Dance Special is an extension of Ballroom Dance in NYC’s greater mission to enhance life on the Upper East Side of NYC with social dancing. According to the company website, “social dancing is the key to a lifetime of fun, poise, confidence, and new friends.” Stanev has seen students who signed up for the Wedding Dance Special adopt ballroom dance as a lifelong hobby.

3) It typically takes five lessons of 55 minutes each for a couple to learn an elegant first dance. The key, according to Stanev, is starting with the basic steps, then the basic turns, followed by intermediate combinations and lastly more complex variations.

“Even if the groom has two left feet, he can still learn to dance, just as he learned to walk,” Stanev says.

Ballroom Dance in NYC got its start in 2006 when Andrey Stanev opened the doors of his first studio, five years after winning the Bulgarian national championship. Stanev is quoted saying:

“We like to do things to connect with our consumers and customers. Things like making the lessons enjoyable and tailoring the lessons to the students’ unique learning style and physical ability. And of course, releasing facts like these to let people know what’s possible.”
