The young entrepreneur started selling organic skincare from his kitchen last year, and now Sephora is offering him a spot on their shelves worldwide.With today’s consumers scrutinizing the chemicals in skincare products, the organic skincare industry has taken off, leaving big-box-stores and department stores worldwide scrambling to find new organic companies to fill their demand. Z Skin Cosmetics seems to be the newest name on their list, the young CEO told us “I never thought my products would actually be this successful, obviously to the person who creates something it’s the best thing in the world, but its kind of like everyone thinking they have the worlds greatest pet”.
Recent reports mentioned the 25-year-old repeatedly turning down multi-million-dollar offers from large cosmetic companies across the world trying to buy out the young entrepreneur, he said “I kept denying them because I didn’t start all of this to make a quick buck, I love what I do and the joy I get from hearing my customers success stories is worth way more than they can ever offer me. I wanted to bring the joy that I had with my results to others, I based my company off of what I wanted to see change in the industry, since I know what it feels like to be hopeless.”
With the expedited success of his online sales, Zamo recently landed a smaller distribution deal, saying “I was offered a spot to be sold in a few small pharmacy chains in a couple of countries, it was the contacts that I met through that deal which opened the door to Sephora for me. They told me that they loved the fact that my company was so personal to me, that I wasn’t just a brand but I had a story behind the products, and that’s what people wanted. I couldn’t believe it when I was actually offered a spot in their stores, this could be a life changing opportunity for me.”
The story behind the products goes deeper though than just making products for himself. The 25-year-old’s parents are very well rounded in the organic field, his mother being a plant biologist and his father being a native of Budapest, Hungary, Zamo told us “My mother let me in on her extensive background in plant bio, and her long career as a successful horticulturist. My father, who grew up in Hungary, always told me the stories about the amazing ways they would treat hair and skin with herbs and oils when he was growing up. So, I do owe a lot of credit to them for the success of my company and products”.
Zamo has taken his organic skincare from his kitchen, to an international success within 5 months, and now will be placed on the shelves of Sephora. His hard work and dedication seems to have made this 25-year-old a true testament to the American Dream.
