Afrinet Business Solutions today announced the launch of its 1KJob.com site, a comprehensive Microjob portal for Nigerian Freelancers and Employers looking for affordable skilled labor on the internet.
1KJob is a small jobs digital marketplace, which connects different skilled labor to employers for important day to day short term assignments including Graphics Design, Proof-reading; Transcription Services; Research and Reports; Web Design; Social Media Marketing; Advertising Services; Online Marketing; Videos and Animations; Real Estate and Unusual Services, etc. The Freelancers list their services on 1KJob from only N1,000 (about $3) per Job, and any employer, company or individual who needs a fast work done can also come to the site and select a qualified jobber from the 1,000s of freelancers listed on the site.
The Founder/CEO of the site, Dr Ope Banwo, an Attorney and Digital Business Consultant, explained that ‘it is inevitable that there would be a portal or new marketplace where employers of labor and skilled labor in Nigeria can interact and do business. People do not need to spend lots of money on simple tasks anymore because the sheer competition and availability of skilled labor from across the nation, in a controlled and safe environment, will now afford users of labor opportunities to quickly get jobs done at very affordable prices.”
Dr Ope Banwo further confirmed that “this portal for Nigerians by Nigerians was inspired by development in other advanced countries where the cost of labor have been reduced drastically, while also increasing job opportunities for many skilled labor who can now work at their own time, pace and space. Employers can now have access to skilled employees for short assignments and order short tasks without going through the whole expensive hiring process.”
Observers have hailed the launching of the 1KJob website as a breakthrough development in creating a fair marketplace for workers and employers. Both are protected by our Escrow Payment arrangement where jobs are offered and services ordered are put in escrow until the services are delivered and approved as well done by the user of labor before the funds are released to the jobber. That way the employer or user of labor who prepaid for services is protected from fraud by the portal. The job portal is now open to freelancers and employers as the beta testing of the platform continues through end of July. The Management plans a formal global launch by 1st of August.
