This discovery is very surprising because the perfume is still preserved for all these years. Delville the one who re-created the perfume was in awe as she opened the bottle thinking the smell is already oxidize or damage but she's surprised the scent is still a fresh floral smell and to the amount of citrus in it.

As the gas chromatograph analyzes the chemical contents, the 150-year-old perfume smelled primarily of citrus along with some more intense woody and oriental fragrances, Delville says. There were also some hints of floral and “animalic” scents, such as musk.

The new recreated perfume is very fresh, with scents of grapefruit, citrus, and rosewood. There are also soft notes of rose and orange flower. It is now ready for sale online at LiliBermuda.com and also at the boutiques on Oct. 1, but the pre-order process is already started.
