Project Machal, a local food bank initiative by the Marine Park Jewish Community Center, announced that philanthropist Yeshaya Wasserman, Founder and CEO of SGW Properties, has been integral to the success of the project by helping Project Machal meet an ambitious $200,000 fundraising goal on the crowdfunding platform Charidy. Offering significant support and vital personal involvement, as well as crucial matching funds, Mr. Wasserman has enabled Project Machal to reach out to many more needy families in the community.Project Machal is an innovative campaign which provides families in need with weekly credit at local grocery stores, allowing them to make ends meet at difficult times. It is a discreet and positive alternative to the usual local food pantry model, operated with the utmost respect for recipients’ privacy and dignity. This help not only feeds the hungry, it also supports their emotional well-being and sense of belonging in the community.
