New security training for WordPress blogs is set to significantly reduce the tens of thousands of WordPress websites and blogs being hacked every day.
The new Blog Defender WP security training was developed in response to major hacking attacks over the last few months.162,000 WordPress websites were hijacked to launch an attack on a major website and 43 million WordPress websites and blogs have been declared vulnerable to a huge variety of hacking attacks.
It takes an average of 152 days for a webmaster to notice they’ve been hacked and 26 million of 36 million self hosted WordPress websites and blogs have little or no security.

Garret said “Most of these attacks can be prevented with simple security steps that require no special training and only take a few minutes to perform. An ordinary lay person with no website skills can take just a few minutes and block brute force attacks, content scrapers, fake bots, cross site script attacks, SQL injection attacks and a whole range of other security issues.”
Many people think their WordPress blog or site won’t be targeted because they’re not making money from the site or they have very little traffic. But hackers are targeting small WordPress sites to insert spam relay scripts, hidden landing pages, phishing pages or just to create a backdoor to allow them to perform their insidious actions later.
