Whatsapp - 4 New Betas to Download in Just 1 Month

Four new Whatsapp betas released in just 30 days. For the Android, Windows phone and Nokia asha owners, the famous mobile phone App owned by Facebook, now offers more features and more upgrades to download for free.

This has been a busy month for the Whatsapp developers' team, with a whopping 4 new betas released in less than 30 days.

The first version which has been released this month is the 2.12.339 beta. This update didn't bring any substantial change apart from more stability and some minor bug fixes. But the most important new feature of this beta is the ability to backup the Chat History now also on Google Drive.

The second beta version of WhatsApp is specific only for Windows Phones. This new beta (2.12.190) comes with a new interface to attach videos or pictures plus the most requested new Starred Messages feature, previously available for iOS and Android. An important feature of this windows phone beta is the option to save all voice messages, which are .aac files with .wap extension, into a new PTT folder (located in Pictures/WhatsApp) to store, forward or even modify all the incoming voice messages.

The third release of this month is the 2.12.353 for Android. This beta doesn't introduce any new feature, but focuses mainly on improving the maximum app performance and stability plus fixing some minor bugs. The APK file has also increased by 3 KB.

The fourth and final WhatsApp beta release to download this month is specifically designed for Nokia Asha models. This new Beta version (2.13.18), which is compatible with both the Symbian S40 and the Nokia C3 models, improve the overall performances of old Nokia devices. There are no new features coming with this 2.13.18 version but, the level of stability and the amount of bug fixes added to this beta is considerable, as the amount of modified files (1519). To install the new beta version for Nokia first download the ".jar" file manually from the official Whatsapp.com/s40 webpage. The new Android beta versions can be downloaded from the Whatsapp.com/android page. Before installing any beta into an Android device the "Unknown Sources" option must be enabled (located in the Settings > Security or Settings > Applications menu) or the installation process will be aborted.
