Andy Murray broke down in tears in 2012 when he fell to defeat against Roger Federer in the Wimbledon final, having missed his opportunity to become the first British Wimbledon champion in well over 70 years. Following his Olympic title success later in the season Murray confirmed for good that he can be as good as anyone on the All-England Club lawns so he'll surely return to Wimbledon as a man on a mission.Murray can expect to be in the middle of a media storm as he bids for the career-defining accolade. Unlike his predecessor Tim Henman, who fell in six slam semi-finals without ever reaching a final, Murray is a slam winner, an Olympic Gold medal winner and undoubtedly one of the hot favourites.
Murray's problem is that he's competing against the toughest opponents to have graced the Open Era. In Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal he has two rivals who have taken tennis to a place that it's never been before. In Federer he has a rival who has been more successful than anyone at Wimbledon and who still plays the game with immense passion and class.
Looking further down the entry list there are players like Tomas Berdych, Milos Raonic, John Isner, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Juan Martin Del Potro and Tommy Haas who could also shake things up. The big servers in particular will be relishing the opportunity to send some bombs at their opponents.
