TheMankipedia.com Gets Men’s Advice Back to Reality

TheMankipedia.com sidesteps the competition by offering "real advice for real men" after research reveals that the men's advice market is saturated with fluff men's advice that offers little practical value to the needs of real men.

TheMankipedia.com gets men’s advice back to reality with new focus on promoting real advice for real men.

After 2 years of building an online men’s advice portal, Patrick Ogunnaike, Editor-in-Chief of TheMankipedia.com, realized that there was something missing in the men’s advice market – real advice for real men. “At first, we followed what I superficially thought our target market was looking for, and as a result the majority of the content on TheMankipedia.com initially reflected the superficial content that can be seen on most men’s advice sites (eg: how to pick up women and how to finally get ripped six pack abs)”, Patrick said. “But after surveying our readers, as well as the readership of other men’s advice sites, and finding out their likes and dislikes, when it comes to the current men’s advice menu that’s currently being served up, we realized that most of what passes for advice doesn’t actually apply to most men in the real world”.

With their new motto, "Real Men, Real Advice", and flagship articles such as Are Today’s Men More Vulnerable to Depression Than Ever?, Do You Have A Fear Of Success? or How to Keep a Woman’s Respect take on some of the most significant challenges that real men face today as they navigate careers, build relationships, raise families, and nurture their health and fitness; and gives them real advice on how to address it. Patrick notes, “So while we’re just as guilty as other men's advice websites for following the easy path of trying to convince guys that six-pack abs are attainable in six minutes a day, or that we have the sure fire way for you to pick up that hot girl at the bar. We’ve matured and no longer feel the need to be all things to all men. We feel that there are plenty of other places to go if men want an online magazine that is basically the male version of Cosmo.”

So unlike their competitors, TheMankipedia.com is actually pruning the website of content that is not in line with their new direction.

Patrick believes that this change in focus will have a real impact and add real value to his reader's lives. TheMankipedia.com is also, in a sense, an open source project as they plan to crowd-source the best advice from real men who read the site. Patrick adds, “Two things that we love are getting feedback from our readers about what subjects are important to them and featuring the work of writers who share our ideals and values on what constitutes Real Advice for Real Men.”
