The Power of Purpose in partnership with investment funds, social entrepreneurs, angel investors and a television program that spotlights the passion and power of difference-makers launches a national tour with a series of live events.

The Power of Grant Money, a New Mexico Limited Liability Company and Living Legacy Institute, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization announced today the beginning of their Power of Purpose Nationwide Tour which will engage with 1,000 nonprofits across America in 2014. The Power of Purpose supports new and existing nonprofits to diversify their funding sources, strengthen their teams, deepen their ability to work with government at all levels and empower their executives and boards to operate as powerful agents of change and transformation.

Power of Purpose founder Sherry Watson, one of the citizen advocates responsible for passing the Americans With Disabilities Act into law believes that "never before in our history has their been such opportunity, coupled with such obvious need, for our nonprofits to lead the restoration of our nation."

The Power of Purpose provides three-day intensive trainings, mentoring and project specific consulting to nonprofits from coast to coast. Living Legacy Institute acts as a facilitating organization for emerging nonprofits and enables them to receive donated real estate, grants, public funds, private grants and other forms of support. "Together, we can redeploy under-utilized assets across America in service of our communities. Nonprofits can lead the way if they just have the proper training," says Living Legacy Institute co-founder Ryan Downey, an award-winning affordable housing developer in New Mexico.

The Power of Purpose Tour opens December 6th-8th in Orlando, FL. The Tour will move to San Francisco in February of 2014 and will visit Phoenix, San Diego, Baltimore and other major cities. The Power of Purpose will also be filming for its upcoming reality television program during these events and will identify at least one nonprofit at each tour stop to compete for a major grant award at the final tour stop in Albuquerque, NM in December 2014. Living Legacy Institute founder Derek Watson, who earlier this year led a movement that brought tons of water, food and supplies to victims of the Oklahoma City Tornadoes, says "the Power of Purpose is the most significant movement in the nonprofit world in decades; a movement that can strengthen and heal communities and make our nonprofits strong and enduring."
