St Thomas Boat Rental company, Beach Bum Boat Rentals has added a 32’ runabout style “sexy boat” to its fleet. Customers like the sleek design over traditional center console boats. Available for island hopping, snorkeling, & beach bar crawling in the U.S. & British Virgin Islands.

St Thomas boat rental company, Beach Bum Boat Rentals, has added a 32’ runabout – style boat to its growing fleet of boats for rent in the Virgin Islands.

One of the most popular activities in St Thomas or St John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is to rent a boat and go island hopping. U.S. citizens don’t even need to have a passport to explore the U.S. Virgin Islands, however they do need passports to go over to the British Virgin Islands – even for a day trip. Among most of the various boat rental or charter companies on the Island, the center console boat is the most prevalent.

“We wanted to offer more variety, so we added the 32’ runabout-style boat,” says Brian Woeller, with Beach Bum Boat Rentals. “The runabout style looks less like a fishing boat, and more like a family boat. Women especially love the sleek styling, calling it the ‘Sexy Boat.’ They also like the fact that there is a toilet on board,” he added.

St Thomas and St John are very popular wedding and cruise ship destinations, and there are also a number of time share units on St Thomas. This means there are a number of people who visit frequently to the islands, and have probably rented a boat from time to time from St Thomas and St John. These people now have more options that the traditional center console boat that has been the only option for a number of years.

“We have been renting boats in St Thomas for years, but wanted to try something new, something different, so we went out on the sexy boat…the runabout one, and loved it,” said Becky Byrn, a Beach Bum Boat Rentals customer. “Most of the boats by the other companies look like fishing boats. We really liked the sleek design on the runabout. It looked like the family boats we’ve had in the past,” said Byrn.

Pricing on the 32’ runabout starts at $599, plus a $150 captain’s fee, plus fuel. British Virgin Islands customs fees (approximately $40 per person) are additional.
