Richard Haight is a certified master teacher in samurai schools of aiki-jujutsu, sword and short staff. His site explains that he spent 15 years living in Japan to study the ancient martial and healing arts, and it was after this time that he returned to America to found the art of Shinkaido, which translates as the open heart path.
Richard describes Shinkaido as an exploratory art that is transmitted through meditation as well as the martial and healing arts. This background forms the inspiration for the book The Unbound Soul, in which the author aims to graduate to higher levels of consciousness and understanding.
