SimpleRx announces a pharmacy prescription savings network that gives people without insurance and those with limited insurance, access to immediate savings on their medication.The United States Census Bureau and other reports divulge over 40 million people in the U.S. do not have healthcare coverage, and approximately another 38 million have inadequate insurance. The SimpleRx program presents discounts off retail prices on virtually every prescription medication at over 63,000 pharmacies nationwide including Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Target, Rite Aid, Kroger, Kmart, Longs and Albertsons. SimpleRx discounts are also valid in conjunction with The Affordable Care Act benefits.
‘SimpleRx is designed to help alleviate some of the fear that the uninsured can have seeking healthcare attention and, specifically, filling prescriptions by providing an easy solution for costly medications,’ says Drew Golden, Founder and CEO. ‘The most important factors in developing the program was to ensure that it is as simple as possible to participate while ensuring the privacy of our consumers. Consumers are required to simply print out a card from the website, or download the free mobile app available on iTunes, and present to the pharmacist when filling or refilling a prescription. The cards are pre-activated allowing users to receive immediate savings of up to 80% depending on the drug and manufacturer. A newly launched ‘Best Price Finder’ puts the power in consumers’ hands to find the best price and discounts for any given medication. Most Americans don’t know that prescription prices vary from pharmacy to pharmacy. By entering the name of the medication and a zip code, SimpleRx ‘Best Price Finder’ compares real-time and up-to-date pricing of drugs and provides a list of the nearest local pharmacies with the lowest pricing. In the case of generic drugs, this can equate to less than $5 per fill.
