SEO, otherwise known as search engine optimization is alive and well, says Graham. He says that every business needs to put some focus on their SEO and that one of the biggest mistakes that businesses make is focusing too much on only one or two forms of marketing versus a strategy of being everywhere, which is much more profitable and effective.
Phil says that the small percentage of companies that do try to focus on SEO usually do it wrong, and end up either getting their website penalized, or just never ranking on page one for their main keywords.
Graham teaches his clients that effective SEO means many different things. It involves creating excellent content, getting some high quality, relevant backlinks from high authority websites, staying away from spam links and mass linking schemes, and maximizing social media and paid ads and tying them all in to an overall SEO strategy.

Proper SEO is safe and effective and while it still involves risk, not doing SEO is a much bigger (and usually costlier) risk.
