August 21, 2014, Lake Ballinger Way N.E. Edmonds, WA - Builder Showroom, a premier cabinet design firm inNorth Seattle, was recently featured for its “A Busted Open, Brightened Up Kitchen” project in a high-end home magazine “This Old House”. The article was about a total transformation of a small kitchen stuck between two rooms into a bigger more spacious kitchen with free-flowing space fit for two cooks, two kids and party guests.

In the article, titled “A Busted Open, Brightened Up Kitchen,” Michael and Susan Assadi, a couple from Seattle owned a 1924 house with a small kitchen stuck between the breakfast room and a gloomy den. The kitchen had an electric cooktop with a downdraft vent fixed in a traffic-slowing peninsula with not enough storage or prep space. Moreover, it was a challenge for the couple to cook and keep an eye on their kids. However, Michael took help of cabinet designer Lisa Wilson and her design-build firm “Builder Showroom” to remove the walls and turn three rooms into one. The breakfast room was turned into an airy walk-in pantry, and the gloomy den became a homework and dining spot. The peninsula was replaced by a small island, which gave them extra prep space. After the total transformation, the kitchen now had enough space for their whole family and party guests.

The success of this kitchen project by Builder Showroom caught the eye of This Old House Magazine, America's most trusted home improvement brand and the project was featured on the front cover. This Old House magazine is a leading consumer magazine with more than 950,000 in circulation and almost 6 million consumers each month.
