The 2014 racing season for Level 5 Motorsports will see the addition of Townsend Bell to the team, following Bell's sportscar racing debut in 2012. Scott Tucker brings Townsend Bell to the Level 5 Motorsports team to leverage Bell's extensive experience in top-level racing.Prior to entering sportscar racing, Bell won the 2001 Indy Lights Championship, and competed for several seasons in both CART and Indy Car.
Townsend Bell joins Bill Sweedler driving the No. 555 Ferrari 458 Italia GT3. The two drivers use their experience driving Ferraris to compete for Level 5 Motorsports in the team's first season participating in the TUDOR United SportsCar Championship's GTD class.
Townsend Bell commented on his future with Scott Tucker and Level 5 Motorsports.
“It’s really exciting that we’re getting a chance to run with such a great team with a championship pedigree,” Bell said. “We’ve certainly enjoyed watching Level 5 from afar for the past two seasons and all the amazing stuff they’ve done in prototypes. I’m really excited to continue with Bill (Sweedler) as he’s such a great and talented guy. To know that we’re going to continue our relationship with Ferrari is incredible and to do it with Level 5, I don’t think it could get any better.”
Townsend Bell's contribution to Level 5 Motorsports will help the team return to it's roots, competing in Ferraris. In the team's early seasons the Ferrari Challenge Series was a staple competition, and Scott Tucker also entered Ferraris in SCCA and GRAND-AM competition.
