Salt Lake City, U.T. -- Long Okura Attorneys at Law announces it will offer affordable uncontested divorces for a flat fee of $995. The flat fee covers up to a two-hour session with a Utah court-rostered mediator, a copy of a post-session agreement, and the creation of documents for filing. The law firm suggests uncontested divorces for couples who want to quickly end their marriage with minimum stress and legal costs.
Stacy Roberts, the law firm’s primary mediator, wrote a blog post on Long Okura’s website about the mediator's role in an uncontested divorce. In the post titled “What does a mediator do at mediation,” she writes that a mediator is a "neutral third party" that helps clients uncover any unresolved issues, discuss their feelings, and form a resolution that works for both parties. The mediator doesn’t advise clients as a judge, jury or attorney, but assists in crafting agreements that allow clients to immediately move forward with their life while also reducing potential conflicts in the future.
Roberts writes in her blog post that a mediator could help improve “communication, understanding and creative thinking” in an uncontested divorce. A mediator resolves communication breakdown helping parties get past sticky issues, she also writes.
Roberts has over 100 hours of mediation training and is a licensed attorney in Utah and Florida. She graduated from Rollins College in Florida and got her law degree from Nova Southeastern University.
Roberts is a Utah Courts-rostered mediator. She will help both parties negotiate divorce terms during a mediation session and creates anywhere from 6 to 11 documents for filing as depending on the situation. These documents are then sent to both parties within seven business days, and will be signed at a later appointment.
