NEW YORK / April 24, 2014 / Today Reuters, one of the world's largest multimedia news providers, announces that Emirates passengers can now access Reuters live news content in-flight. Emirates, which has won Best In-flight Entertainment from World Airline Awards for 9 years running, now features Reuters News stories that are regularly updated throughout flights and are offered in multiple languages including English, Arabic, French and German.

"News consumption has never been stronger, and technological advances-combined with changes in consumer behavior-provide so many new and exciting opportunities for Reuters to deliver news when and where people want it," says Steven Schwartz, global managing director, Reuters News Agency. "Our partnership with Emirates exemplifies this dynamic and represents one way that Reuters is evolving along with the market to satisfy a seemingly endless thirst for fast, unbiased and accurate news from around the world."

"Our passengers like and need to be connected to and informed about the world below, especially during long-haul flights," said Patrick Brannelly, Emirates VP, Product, Publishing, Digital and Events. "Emirates has pioneered many industry firsts, including transmitting live news headlines to flights over a decade ago. The addition of Reuters News service in multiple languages will ensure that even more passengers can stay up-to-date with breaking news, sports scores and current events as it happens."
