Recent Study Shows Vitamin D Deficiency Linked To Increased Risk of Alzheimer’s, Dementia

A team of researchers at an esteemed university found that low levels of Vitamin D can more than double a person’s risk of developing Alzheimer’s and dementia.

Vitamin D deficiency has been described by the medical community as reaching epidemic proportions. As the clinical studies are revealed, it has become apparent just how important this nutrient is to the human body. A recent study conducted by a team of researchers at The University of Exeter Medical School in the UK, and published in the peer reviewed Journal Neurology, was the largest study of its kind to date. Study participants were followed for 6 years. Those people who were severely deficient in Vitamin D had a twofold risk of developing cognitive decline, and dementia.

Vitamin D turns out to be a very versatile nutrient, including the ability to raise testosterone levels in healthy males. A recent study conducted by the Medical University of Graz, Austria, examined the efficacy of vitamin D supplementation on testosterone levels in men whose test results indicated low testosterone. This study was published in “Hormone and Metabolic Research”, and showed an increase in testosterone levels in the group of men that received vitamin D supplementation.

Chronic inflammation is behind every major disease known to humans, yet little is known about naturally modulating it at a cellular level. A new study published in The Journal of Immunology, conducted by researchers at National Jewish Health, have finally discovered specific molecular and signaling events by which Vitamin D inhibits inflammation.

Members of the Research & Development team behind Nutrusta have made a superior form of Vitamin D3 an active ingredient in their new DHA Omega-3 Ultra formula. Since Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin, in order for the human body to metabolize it well, the formulation would need to include a good fat, such as Omega-3 Fatty Acids. The new formula offers all the benefits of a highly absorbable Vitamin D3 source, along with the benefits of a Natural Triglyceride form of high DHA Omega-3 fish oil.

Nutrusta only uses deep, cold water fish as a source of Omega-3, as other sources often contain toxic metals like mercury. The process used, Supercritical CO2 Extraction, is a more costly process, but the CO2 prevents oxygen from being exposed to the oil, thereby protecting the oil from degradation, which would make the oil rancid, contributing to the body’s inflammation.

This second-generation Omega-3 formula contains other active ingredients not seen in other formulas. Its ratio of DHA to EPA, along with Astaxanthin and Vitamin D3 are what separates this product from all the rest. Astaxanthin is an especially powerful and long-lasting antioxidant that is 550 times stronger than Vitamin E and 6,000 times stronger than Vitamin C. Astaxanthin has been shown to support eye, brain, joint and skin health, healthy blood sugar levels, endurance and weight control.
