A recent article in Forbes magazine reports that even though Americans continue to use much more power generated by oil and coal than by the sun, solar energy consumption grew at a 38 percent rate from 2013 to 2014. Robert Rapier, author of a book titled Power Plays: Energy Options in the Age of Peak Oil, believes solar is the most important emerging energy source and will pass coal and rival oil in the amount of energy supplied globally within the next one to two decades.Officials at Power4Patriots are also convinced that solar is the wave of the future. They strongly encourage Americans to go solar in order to save money and limit their dependence on a vulnerable U.S. electrical grid.
“Getting off the grid as much as possible is a good idea for several reasons,” said 4Patriots Partner Allen Baler. “In addition to extreme weather, our electrical grid is being attacked regularly by hackers and it’s just a matter of time before a lengthy blackout occurs. When that happens, only those who are prepared for it will be able to handle it.”
Baler believes that the best way to keep electricity flowing during blackouts, and reduce monthly power costs, is to become independent of the power grid by learning how to generate electricity through the installation of solar panels and wind turbines.
Power4Patriots is a recently updated series of videos and manuals describing how to build solar panels, wind turbines, water heaters and solar heaters.
