Pet Care Sunday, a premier online community for pet owners and lovers, recently announced the launch of their Animal Activism Scholarship Program. As a blog that reaches over 80,000 pet lovers every single month, the team behind the Pet Care Sunday website is on a mission to empower others to do their part to advocate for the health and safety of all animals. The scholarship program is open to undergraduate and graduate students across the United States currently pursuing a degree program.Mary Ann, Pet Care Sunday’s Founder, commented “I have loved interacting with animals all of my life. The Pet Care Sunday Scholarship Program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in the U.S. and those who will be by the time the scholarship is awarded. Applicants will be required to submit an 800 to 1500-word article on a topic related to animal activism, animal rights, or animal care.
The award amount for the Pet Care Sunday Animal Activism Scholarship will be $500~$1,500, depending on how many winners are chosen during the application period. The deadline for application submissions is March 31st, 2017 with winners announced on April 15, 2017.
Ann went on to say, “Animal advocacy is everyone’s responsibility. However, we understand that those enrolled in degree programs across the country may find it difficult to engage in this important work because of their time and financial constraints. It is our hope that this scholarship will ease the financial burden for students so that they can have the freedom to stay in the fight for animal rights.”
