As part of the Alexander-Levitt Funeral Home community outreach service, they are partnering with Paradise Home Health Care to provide informative seminars to their clients, neighbors and the community at large. Presentations are geared to Boomers and Older Adults.

Paradise Home Health Care has been selected to deliver educational presentations at the Alexander-Levitt location Tamarac, Florida. Lectures are scheduled for the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the Reception room

The series begins on March 7th, 2017 at the Chapel located at 8135 W. McNab Road, Tamarac 33321. “We feel very strongly about being part of our community and want folks to feel welcome here, not just at their time of need. We believe, through our resources we are able to present much needed information to our neighbors” explains Tricia Segura, Chapel Manager.

Paradise Home Health Care introduces screened, certified and caring aides into people’s homes during an illness, post-surgery or when they are managing a long term disease. “Due to our commitment to education for seniors and their families we are able to coordinate guest speakers, experts in their fields, on a wide range of topics useful to Boomers in the “Sandwich Generation”, especially when dealing with the loss of a parent”, says Sherry Picker, MSW.

The first few presentations include: “Gaining a Strategy using Veterans or Medicaid Benefits” with Eric Weitkamp of Freedom Partners of South Florida, “Happiness – Is it for You?” using the Happiness Handbook as a guide to recognizing and building authentic personal happiness, “Communicating with Adult Children” both presented by Joy Siegel, EdD, MBA and “The Five Wishes” a legal and all-inclusive end of life document presented by Esther Cohen of VITAS.

Ms. Segura states that “In addition to the Grief Support Groups we sponsor, we realized that there is a need in the community for a lot of other age related concerns. The Support groups are usually short in duration and we want to provide follow-up opportunities for our clients and their families to delve deeper into topics important to them.”

Paradise Home Health Care is a licensed private duty Home Care Company in Broward and Palm Beach counties. “We do a lot of programming in different venues but a funeral chapel, well, this is a first. We go where the people are and Alexander-Levitt in Tamarac is successful in providing a warm atmosphere in this community” says Ms. Picker.
