Locals and visitors of Metro Davao who seek weekend entertainment and food look to Zoofari’s Outback Grill, a quirky family restaurant located in the city’s residential district. The restaurant’s main draw is their weekend live shows: a hodge-podge of eating contests, band music, and fire dancing, among others. The challenge involves the Goliath Burger, claimed to be the Biggest, Best and Bulkiest Burger in Davao City. Challengers purchase the Goliath Burger a la carte or as part of a combo meal and single-handedly finish it within an hour. The winner gets the said burger and a Goliath shirt for free and earns a spot on the Outback Hall of Fame. The Goliath Burger is normally good for 8 people.
Outback Grill is a safari-themed restaurant complete with animal replicas placed as if they’re about to dine with the patrons. People driving by see a biplane that has nose-dived into the restaurant’s roof, drawing in curious new diners. These new guests will soon find, upon entering, that the plane’s “pilot” has successfully gotten out and is now dangling on the restaurant’s ceiling. Outback Grill’s theme is a novelty in the city, making it a must-see for visitors.
Outback Grill’s specialties are barbecue, burgers, ribs and seafood, all of which are crowd pleasers. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of Filipino classics, along with American meat specialties. Being a weekend haunt for barkadas, Outback Grill also offers a selection of beer and other beverages great for a night of chilling over drinks and good food.
Zoofari Kid’s Adventure, the safari-themed jungle gym adjacent to the restaurant pulls in more families looking for entertainment for the kids. The sizeable indoor jungle gym is a favorite spot for active kids, with giant slides, obstacle courses and ball pools to occupy kids for a good couple of hours.
Right outside Zoofari Kid’s Adventure is Outback Café. While sharing the same menu as Outback Grill, the indoor café is mine-themed, complete with murals of dark tunnels and train track floor impressions. The café also serves snacks and refreshment perfect for kids.
Outback Grill Davao is a must-try restaurant for both locals and visitors of Davao City. Aside from the food and live entertainment, it’s a great place for children to release pent up energy after a week of schoolwork. The one-of-a-kind theme is a bonus, too!
