The gold lined rings are designed to appeal to customers who mainly want a wooden ring, but also like the idea of precious metal accents. Additionally, these rings should appeal to consumers who are conscious about purchasing sustainable jewelry made exclusively from ethically sourced materials.
Customers will have a choice between 14K white or yellow gold that comes from 80% recycled materials. The rest is sourced from mines based out of the US that follow ethical practices.
At this time, Northwood is offering 14 different styles of gold lined rings, but says that they plan on making the gold liner an option for all of their rings in the near future. In the meantime, customers can contact Northwood directly to discuss custom designs and orders.
Elizabeth Hill, Co-Owner of Northwood Rings, when asked about the new gold lined wooden rings said:
“[These rings] are perfect for people who love to blend traditional and modern styles. The added weight of the bands are also nice for people who are used to wearing metal rings, as it won’t feel too different on their hands.”
Unlike their other rings, Northwood announced that they would not be able to offer free resizing on their gold lined wooden rings at this time. This is because the gold lined rings cannot actually be resized, and so a whole new one must be created in order to meet size changes. If a new size is required, a $150 resizing fee will be assessed in order to cover the costs of new gold. Northwood encourages all potential customers to take an accurate measurement of their ring size before purchase, in order to avoid any unwanted charges.
