The Rocky McElhaney Law Firm is proud to announce that Nicole Goldbaugh of Wheeling, West Virginia is the 2015 recipient of the first annual Max McElhaney Memorial Educational Scholarship. The $2500 award will help Ms. Goldbaugh continue her schooling in Early Elementary Education.

"What an incredible young woman Nicole is,” said firm founder Rocky McElhaney. “She’s bright and hungry, and so excited to learn and to impart knowledge. Her story about the ‘gold standard of love’ really touched me and all of us, because she has been through so much as this young age, and yet finds strength and honor in that love. Nicole is really an extraordinary young woman with a lot of give, and we are truly honored to help her pursue her dreams.”

The Max McElhaney Memorial Educational Scholarship was founded in honor of Rocky’s McElhaney’s uncle. Born and raised in Grainger County, Tennessee, Max McElhaney earned his Education degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, and taught in Rutledge for many years. Mr. McElhaney went on to obtain a degree in hospitality later in life, and became a luxury hotel executive. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer in early 2014 and passed away on May 4, 2015.
