New, Unique Cloud Software for Residential Heating & Cooling Calculation

Share this news:

Residential Heating and Cooling Calculations are required by building codes whenever a new heating or cooling system is installed in a home. The REALhvac Load Calculation is a new, unique cloud-based way to perform these calculations without the purchase of expensive software.

There were 624,000 new single-family building permits issued in September 2014, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. As part of the permitting process, the 2009 International Residential Code (IRC), M1401.3 requires building heating and cooling loads be calculated in accordance with ACCA Manual J. The REALhvac Load Calculation precisely follows Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Manual J procedures, providing the information necessary for building permits.

ACCA Manual J is a 550 page manual with extensive tables and equations. REALhvac Load Calculation provides a cloud-based software approach to these procedures. It is available from any computer using any modern internet browser. There is absolutely nothing to download until the final report is calculated which then can be downloaded. Whether in-progress or completed, projects are save on secure internet servers.

Being cloud-based, the high price of other software options are avoided. At each log-in, the current version is accessed, no need to ever install upgrades.

REALhvac Load Calculation has weather information for nearly1000 locations in the United States. It uses numerous equations and nearly 100tables to create and track over 500 variables for a typical home. This is all automatic, while the user follows a straight forward step by step procedure. Information can be entered in any order and any changes can be easily made. Entered information is saved, calculations are performed and the page is updated without entire page reloading. On-screen tables automatically update to show the progress. There are no limits on the size of home and no limit on the number of building elements like windows and doors.

The REALhvac Load Calculation was built by the professions at Residential Energy Analysis Leader (REAL). REALhvac.net provides tools and training for Residential Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Energy Auditors professionals of any skill level.
