A trip to Europe in 2015 by the owners of Ash Jumping Castles made them aware that Australia was really behind the times when it came to inflatables, known as bouncy castles in Europe.
The Europeans, despite their unpredictable weather, love their bouncy castles in the summer months, especially in the UK where they also manufacture excellent quality inflatables.
Ash Jumping Castles source many of their units from the UK and visited a number of large operators to examine their stock & discuss industry trends in the Northern Hemisphere.
It was interesting to note that the Europeans have moved away from the traditional jumping castles & combo’s (traditional castles with slides) to interactive units like gladiator duals, boxing ring, giant slides and sumo suits for added spice.
The real difference noted was in the popularity of inflatable obstacle courses; one provider confirmed that these now accounted for 55% of their revenue.
