With https protocol, Eddys website now has an SSL Certificate which contains a public access code or public key. That key then transmits the content of his site in encrypted format to the viewers site. This prevents third parties from hacking the information communicated over the site.
This adds a strong level of protection to potential customers who use a form on the site to request information or services from Fast Eddys Keys Express.
“It’s not that I thought there was a high likelihood anyone would poach my customers information,” said Eddy. “It was more of a desire to lead by example.”
Security is an important concept for Eddy. Taken aside, he will recount numerous times when he has been called to a home or business after a break in. “It can be heartbreaking.”
As he notes on his website, “As simple as it may be, just a little thing like the length of the screws holding the strike plate into the door or wall can make a huge difference in your security.”
