Marketplace Master to Provide Right Tools, Hone Skills for Conference Attendees

Car dealers want their teams well-trained, with the right tools, and empowered to sell more cars and earn more. The Marketplace Master event, Sept. 6-8, at the Dallas Hyatt Regency, will offer more than 2 dozen of the nation’s top trainers to provide this.

There’s not a lumberjack crew chief that doesn’t make sure team members are experienced and well-trained before sending them out to clear a patch of forest. The leader makes sure the crew is strong and fit, their axes and chainsaws razor sharp, and all tools are modern and in good working order.

The same should be true for automotive retailers and their managers, said Beto Paredes, co-founder of the Marketplace Master Dealership Series Conference and EXPO, Sept 6-8, at the Dallas Hyatt Regency.

The Marketplace Master Dealership Series was created to disseminate the most current information and technology to improve dealership sales, marketing, and management from the nation’s top experts. A large trade exposition will be held in conjunction with the event allowing attendees to learn from and interact with the nation’s top automotive suppliers and vendors.

The Association of Auto Sales Professionals has decided to offer its Sales Manager and Sales Associate Certifications as all five members of AASP’s executive board will be on hand to offer the training, along with two dozen of the nation’s top trainers. Details on the AASP Certification Program can be found at the website.

“Every dealer wants his or her team to run at peak efficiency,” said Paredes, who is the founder of two automotive marketing and website companies with more than 4,000 dealer clients. “Dealers must look at their team and make sure they are well-trained, using the most modern tools available, and that they are performing all their tasks safely, that is to say legally compliant.”

Mike Jackson, co-founder of the Marketplace Master Dealership Series, has worked with more than 5,000 dealers as the founder of Auto Search Technologies over the past 15 years. His firm develops websites and assists with search engine optimization for its clients.

“There’s not a dealer I’ve met who didn’t make an expenditure or an investment in equipment or personnel that didn’t do it with increased profits as the underlying reason,” Jackson said. “We hear from dealers constantly who want personnel trained well, driving prospects to the dealership, and closely deals efficiently and effectively.”

Paredes said that is how the dealership series got its name.

“This national convention is designed to have attendees leave as Masters of their Marketplace,” Paredes said. “When dealers, managers, and sales associates leave the convention, we want them to leave with a full set of tools, honed to a razor’s edge, so they are able to get back to their stores and using those tools to increase their personal wealth and the prosperity of the dealerships.”

Jackson, who will deliver a keynote address entitled “Turning Sales Staff into Social Media Influencers While Staying Compliant,” said having AASP Certifications offered at the show is another important reason dealer principals should bring their sales managers and associates along with them.

“We want attendees to leave our show with the right tools, sharpened to a razor’s edge, and empowered to be masters of their marketplaces,” Jackson said.

AASP Certifications will be based on the attendance of managers and associates at 10 Marketplace Master workshops and keynote speeches spanning 13 hours over the course of the three-day event. All 13 hours of training will be required for the AASP Sales Management Certification and 9 hours will be required for the AASP Sales Certification. Attendance will be taken at all workshops and seminars. Maintaining the certification will require continuing education both online and other events held across the country.
