US Marine Corps Vets Celebrate Camaraderie And Esprit de Corps With A Reunion Event At Sea.

United States Marine Corps Veterans from multiple eras are gearing up for a well deserved group reunion at sea. The event is open to all Marine Veterans, Marine family members, and associated personnel. It is taking place October 26th through November 1st, 2014.

The event is being organized by one of the largest and fastest growing independent Marine Corps Facebook Groups, USMCVets. However, being a member of the group is not required to attend. The Marines are holding this reunion event on a civilian cruise ship leaving Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

The founder of the Facebook Group - USMCVets - Jason Anderson, is a Marine Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps from 1988 to 1992. The Group USMC Vets was created a little over a year ago with the purpose of connecting a few Marine friends but has rapidly grown in popularity and now has over 14,000 members with a waiting list of Marines requesting to join each day. They are now planning the First Annual USMC Vets Cruise reunion event.

The USMC Vets Cruise is open to ALL Marines, Marine Vets and Marine Family members.

Anderson states: “I started this group with just a small seed of friends. I’m amazed at how quickly this group has grown but not surprised. Marines are a tight crowd and we refer to each other as brothers and sisters. The activity in the group is incredible and has reenergized the camaraderie between several generations and eras of Marines like I’ve never seen. It’s even been therapeutic for some members because Marines deal with issues that most civilians simply don't understand. This peer to peer environment has really turned out to be a good thing for the Marines in there. I’m proud of it.”

He continues by saying "This is more than a regular cruise. It is a USMC Vets event at sea. There will be group activities, private parties, and meetings onboard that's only available to our group of Marine Vets. It’s a great way to meet up with old buddies and meet new Marine friends in person - outside social media.”

Early bird pricing is available for Marines who book through March 15, 2014. To secure a cabin, a deposit is required. $500.00 is required to book for double occupancy. An additional $500.00 will be due in April, and the balance should be paid off 60 days prior to the ship setting sail. On March 15th, 2014, the event price will increase $400.00 per cabin.

Marines are encouraged to book their cabins by visiting this site: usmcvetscruise.com. The cruise will be departing from Port Everglades Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
