Fraud detection using polygraph exams (colloquially known as “lie detector” tests) is saving many ASEAN and especially Thailand companies money and helping by detecting fraud and potential fraud before it becomes costly.

Polygraph exams have proven to be up to 98% accurate at determining the truthfulness of the subject which makes them an incredibly powerful tool for businesses who are vulnerable to fraud and other dishonest dealings especially from employees.
Contrary to popular belief nervousness and high blood pressure do not effect the test results and nervousness will now show an innocent person to be guilty. The Thailand Polygraph Association Standards and Ethics Committee also requires that the examinee be given results if requested so the process is more open than is commonly perceived.
The goal of a lie detector is to see if a person is lying or telling the truth when answering certain questions. Four to six sensors are attached to the person taking the test and the sensors record the persons breathing, pulse rate and perspiration.
An experienced examiner can see how any vital signs change when asked questions. The person’s normal state is compared to when they’re asked key questions to determine the likely truthfulness of their answers.
These “lie detector” tests are now being used in a wide variety of companies with employees as diverse as bank employees, jewellery shop employees, hospital employees with access to pharmaceuticals, truck and bus drivers, security guards, baby sitters, insurance company employees and many more.
Some lawyers use polygraph exams to screen their clients and many Thailand employers are now using polygraph exams to pre-screen employment candidates.
Some businesses are also using polygraph exams with business partners to help resolve sensitive situations, to help uncover the source of known fraud and to help weed out potentially costly fraudulent activity from business partners before they can escalate.
The Thailand Polygraph Association can arrange tests in multiple locations across Thailand and several other ASEAN countries including Cambodia.
