The Arthritis National Research Foundation, a leading children's charity based in Long Beach, has recently been awarded top marks from the charity evaluation company, Charity Navigator, which evaluates a range of charity organizations. In addition to receiving the top 4 star rating, this arthritis foundation was also named as the number one charity to watch in 2013 by the charity evaluator.

The charity is dedicated to funding cutting edge research in order to find effective treatments to help cure arthritis, which is a debilitating disease that can affect people of all ages and can vastly reduce quality of life. Over 90 percent of each dollar donated to the charity goes directly towards the research carried out, and ANRF also benefits from various events organized to raise more money, such as Racing for a Cure, which raises valuable funding to aid the charity's work.

The 4 star rating will be a valuable boon for the charity, reflecting the important work that it does and the transparency of its finances. Following the award, Derek Belisle said: "4 stars again! America’s premier charity evaluator awards the ANRF its highest, 4-star rating for sound fiscal management."

One of the leading charities for children, the foundation provides funding to scientists in a bid to help them to find new and innovative ways to treat and cure arthritis. NRF President, Kevin Donohue, states: "At the Arthritis National Research Foundation our focus is different. We want to provide a breeding ground for young genius. We strive to fund young cutting-edge arthritis research scientists with “outside the box” ideas, in an effort to find new treatments and cures for these diseases."

Charity Navigator started evaluating the ANRF four years ago, and over the past four years has been consistently awarding top marks to the charity. The charity evaluation company said that the ANRF "exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause."
