Ohio based children’s author, Laura Ceville, has announced that she is training for her first triathlon. The event is set for 11 June 2017 at Deer Creek State Park in Mount Sterling, Ohio. It will be a sprint triathlon, with 0.5 miles of swimming, 12.4 miles of cycling, and 3.1 miles of running to finish it off. She is currently in her fifth month of training, which she hopes will culminate in the IRONMAN World Championship in October of 2019–the year she turns 40.

Athletes gain entry into the event in three ways: by earning a slot at a qualifying event, being selected in the IRONMAN Legacy program or by winning through the IRONMAN charitable eBay auction.
