The Las Vegas housing market keeps heating up along with the southern Nevada temperatures. Veteran Realtor Leslie Hoke reported via her popular Las Vegas real estate website and blog Homes By Leslie, that the latest housing figures released by the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors proved promising for the once-battered real estate market that is in the middle of a nice turn-around.“The data keeps getting better month after month,” said longtime Las Vegas realtor and blogger Leslie Hoke.
“The latest Las Vegas housing market data showed prices held stable at $205,000 for the median priced home. Along with that, the number of homes sales increased markedly by 37.8% compared to February. Sales generally increase as we move into spring, but this large of an increase is the biggest we’ve seen since 2006. It’s very encouraging,” said Hoke.
“I think there are a few different factors contributing to the increase in addition to the weather. I think homeowners are pricing their properties realistically compared to the last few months. And, I think buyers are in more of a financial position to buy than in previous years. When you combine that with affordable home prices and rock-bottom interest rates, you’ve got the recipe for great sales numbers,” Hoke went on to say.
“Over 60% of homes are selling in 60 days or less, which is obviously a good thing for sellers. So if you’re thinking of selling your home, I recommend now is a good time. Inventory is actually pretty tight right now, which means there is less competition. It’s a good time to sell and buy,” said Hoke.
