In 2007, Klayton Tapley moved his flooring company into a new building. He would soon find out that the building had previously been occupied by a fireplace company that had just gone out of business after more than 30 years. People frequently came to him asking where that “fireplace place” had gone. He recognized that an important need for fireplace products was no longer being met in the community, and decided to train his staff to enter a new market to fill this need. He opened a second store and named it appropriately, “The Fireplace Place.”Since that unlikely start almost a decade ago, Mr. Tapley and his team have found fulfillment through making homes beautiful, safe and cost-effective with fireplaces and fireplace products.
In a new video sharing the experience, Mr. Tapley says, “I started The Fireplace Place back in '07 when I decided to move my flooring company in this building. There had been a fireplace company here for some 30 years and they had gone out of business earlier that year. By fall of that year there was people just pounding at the door asking me where the 'fireplace place' had gone. They had a dire need for fireplace products and nobody would fill that. So then I thought my team could step up and help them out so I started a company called The Fireplace Place. ”
