Selection for the National Association of Distinguished Counsel
The National Association of Distinguished Counsel was founded for attorneys, by attorneys. “The mission of the NADC is to objectively recognize the attorneys who elevate the standards of the Bar and provide a benchmark for other lawyers to emulate.” Unlike other general directories, the NADC is highly selective about its membership process, which means that less than 1% of attorneys throughout the country are offered membership.
In order to be considered, a candidate must make it through a rigorous vetting process. NADC’s in-house research team develops a profile for the candidate based on factors such as the “firm profile and reputation, years of practice, education, training, trial experience, case outcomes, peer endorsements, client reviews, professional awards, professional memberships, leadership in legal organizations, community involvement, disciplinary status, and other noteworthy achievements.” If a candidate meets the researchers’ guidelines, his or her profile is passed along to a panel of highly decorated attorneys, who in turn send their choice candidates along to a judicial review board. Candidate who make it through this lengthy process will be offered membership in the NADC.
