Registration is now open for the biggest youth football tournament in Europe in 2015, as the Intersport Youth Football Festival has been announced in Kaposvar, Hungary. The organizers are expecting as many as 250 teams to participate from all over the world, featuring teams of ages between 8 and 19 year old boys, totaling over 6,000 participants.The youth football festival is the biggest football tournament of its kind in Eastern Europe, and provides a unique opportunity for East and West Europe to meet, while welcoming between several teams every year from Latin America and Asia as the tournament’s profile increases year on year.
The tournament has been developing the last 10 years, with 1,368 participating teams from 53 countries, welcoming more than 25,000 players, many of whom have started their professional career.
The tournament is often considered as the unofficial European Youth Football Cup to accompany the professional league’s UEFA cup, and is certainly the biggest and best known European Youth Football Tournament in the history of the sport.
With registration now open, the sponsors and organizers of the event are looking forward to making it their biggest and most successful tournament yet.
A spokesperson for the Intersport Youth Football Festival explained, “This year we are really hoping to expand the number of international teams arriving from countries in Latin America, North America where the sport is spreading, and from Asia, where teams have performed better and better in professional tournaments and the youth are being trained to dominate in ten years’ time. Tomorrows’ stars are often forged in the crucible of this tournament, and talent scouts will surely be in attendance, making it an essential date in the calendar of any talented youth team.”
