Meet Teddy the Wonder Horse and Super Calvin – they’re helping trauma survivors to find hope and healing.

In the aftermath of recent shoot tragedies across the US, the public has seen therapy dogs ease the suffering of distressed victims. But most people don’t know that horses – highly intuitive – can do the same.

Jennifer Malocha is the mastermind behind the horse-assisted life coaching experience called, “Redefining Your Story”, which is helping survivors of emotional, psychological and physical trauma find hope and healing with a horse companion.

Trauma victims struggle with feelings of sadness, shame, fear, PTSD, shock and disbelief. Jennifer knows this better than most, as a survivor of sexual assault herself.

She struggled to find a way to overcome her physical and emotional trauma and reclaim her identity, finding many traditional therapies served only to re-victimize her.

When she discovered horse-assisted healing coaching, everything changed.

When victims of trauma use horse assisted coaching, they are able to work through trust issues, build coping skills and reduce post-traumatic stress symptoms.

“It’s amazing,” says Sheri Hervey, a recent participant at Malocha’s Intro event and police/civilian vigil held on July 22, 2016 in Bellevue, WA. “It just didn’t occur to me [about horse-assisted healing]. You’re lucky if you get to experience this.”

Malocha shares three tips to help trauma survivors begin the healing process in their lives.

1) Become the leader in one’s own life and listen to one’s intuitive guidance.

2) Set healthy boundaries without anger or fear.

3) Practice radical self-care. Be fully present to release the trauma and receive the inner healing.

In the current climate of tragedy and loss, this is a timely opportunity to put the spotlight on a little-known non-traditional healing modality [horse-assisted healing coaching] that can make a big difference in the lives of those who are suffering, while healing the mind and body on a cellular level.
