Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region (www.HomeCareAssistance-Toronto.com), the leading provider of non-medical, in-home senior care in the Greater Toronto Area, is announcing its partnership with Maria Shriver’s nonprofit organization, A Woman’s Nation.Home Care Assistance –Toronto/York Region is joining forces with Shriver’s A Woman’s Nation nonprofit group in an exclusive partnership as a part of the Move for Minds event, a marathon put on by A Woman’s Nation. The goal of the two joining together is to promote physical fitness in seniors and its physical and mental benefits.
“This is such an important movement,” says Brian Shevel, president of Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region. “Home Care Assistance has always promoted physical activity for seniors and coming together with A Woman’s Nation for this event is incredible and will help spread that message even further.”
Move for Minds will take place on May 21, with Home Care Assistance – Toronto/York Region acting as the exclusive caregiver partner as well as promoting its message and experience to all those in attendance.
“To be part of this event is a privilege and an opportunity,” Shevel adds. “It's important for seniors to stay active, given what can happen when they don’t. This is a chance to reinforce this message and increase the awareness outside of our brand's regular communities.”
Funds from the Move for Minds marathon will go towards fighting Alzheimer’s disease, particularly in women, who are affected by the illness more than men. All of the money raised will be put towards women’s brain research initiatives.
“There couldn’t be a better cause,” Shevel concludes. “Alzheimer’s is a debilitating disease and any progress made towards finding a cure or preventing the condition altogether would be a huge step forward to enhancing the lives of millions of seniors.”
