Histowiki.com launched its crowd sourced ‘Grubergate’ Timeline of events today, with a particular focus on how it was covered in major media. The timeline includes links, video and citations of not only the news stories that influence America’s view of events, but also links to influential twitter comments of the influential players involved in the story.

Jonathan Gruber is the economist central to the story whom many have called the ‘architect of Obamacare’. Yet even that was a controversial data point, disputed by Affordable Care Act proponents. The controversy all started when a video surfaced in November of 2014 of Gruber speaking at an economics conference, in which he said “lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically – you know, call it the stupidity of the American voter, or whatever – but basically that was really, really critical to get anything to pass…” Affordable Care Act (A.C.A) opponents claim this is an admission that the law was passed in a disingenuous manner, while A.C.A. proponents claimed it was merely an irrelevant off the cuff statement.

Histowiki.com is searching for a full time curator for the evolving Grubergate timeline, any interested parties can contact the editors at the website. In the meantime, they welcome any and all feedback about the timeline, through it’s moderated comment section.

HistoWiki.com has a novel inducement for people who help “crowd source” a timeline. Visitors can log in, and suggest additions to any timeline. Any visitor whose relevant data point is accepted by editors, or the timeline’s curator, will have his or her social media profile, be it Twitter or any other, highlighted on the page as a contributor for their internet sleuthing efforts.

HistoWiki’s timelines all contain multimedia sources, even Tweets from crucial influencers, to help fulfill the goal of each timeline being the most complete and crowdsourced record of an event’s history.

HistoWiki.com is currently in closed Beta, but will soon be opening its membership to other passionate and inquisitive curators to host their own timelines there.
