CyberSoft Healthcare revolutionizes health IT operating room management with the release of its flagship product, ORMS™ TeamBuilder™, by integrating aggregated hospital databases, the OR schedule, staff schedule & AI data communication.

At this year’s HIMSS Conference, CyberSoft Healthcare announced the release of its award winning software ORMS™ TeamBuilder™. CEO, anesthesiologist, biomedical engineer and software developer, Dr. Harold Arkoff, described a novel product for the needs of health IT in the operating room.

Dr. Arkoff describes ORMS™ TeamBuilder™ as a suite of hospital-based server and mobile applications hosted by the hospital behind their firewall as a cost-effective Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) product. All of the patient data resides on the hospital’s server and not in the cloud. All users share the same data, but the data is presented differently depending on their role and responsibilities. The main command information center is a large touch panel display for managing patients and all staff. The system layers on top of any existing operating room scheduling system and represents a single portal to display data from any hospital HL7 compliant database. CyberSoft Healthcare’s patent pending graphical user interface allows for the rapid assimilation of even the most complex operating rooms in just seconds.

“In the management of the operating room, all data in the hospital intersects. ORMS™ TeamBuilder™ is the first portal in the industry that integrates all of this data into a single system that helps surgeons, nursing and anesthesia work together as a team to enhance patient safety and operating room efficiency.”

Dr. Arkoff, who has 25 years of experience in the operating room continued, “ORMS™ TeamBuilder™ is unique in health IT solutions for the operating room. It is the only product on the market that aggregates and assimilates data from multiple sources, including the EMR, and then repackages this information into smaller, easier to understand and intuitive packets of data. This is possible through CyberSoft Healthcare’s partnerships with Applied PilotFish Healthcare Integration (healthcare.pilotfishtechnology.com) who will handle all data integration with hospital databases and ScImage (www.scimage.com) who will provide PACS system imaging integration.”

The software, through its workflow process analytics engine, is constantly analyzing this aggregate of data. It communicates this time-sensitive information to the operating room staff by updating both the enterprise and mobile applications, as well as, automatically sending alerts via pager or encrypted SMS messaging to the appropriate individuals who need to make critical, clinical or workflow process decisions.”

Explained Dr. Arkoff, “Engineers are good at solving problems, but they have to first understand the problem. The operating room is a secure location within the hospital limited to authorized personnel. Within the operating room, there is only one person with the knowledge to develop a comprehensive solution who is at the intersection of all data points, and that is an anesthesiologist. The anesthesiologist cares for the patients, works with the surgeons and manages the operating room with nursing. It just so happens that I am an engineer who likes to solve problems; have been programing since I was 15; and have the personal drive to develop the product.”

Dr. Arkoff likes to tell people that ORMS™ TeamBuilder™ is the “Swiss Army Knife of operating room management software.” He further explains that just like a Swiss Army Knife that has many blades, ORMS™ TeamBuilder™ has a myriad of features to assist with the management and workflow complexities of the operating room.
