Hill Country wedding vendors and venues are excited that Dripping Springs, Texas could bear the official title of "Wedding Capital of Texas" very soon.

Known as the Gateway to the Hill Country, soon Dripping Springs, Texas could also bear another official title. Earlier in March the Texas House said “I Do” to a proposal that would designate Dripping Springs with the honorary trademark of the “Wedding Capital of Texas”, while getting Hill Country wedding venues and vendors excited about the announcement.

With over 1,700 weddings in 2014 alone, the small town of about 2,000 residents, Dripping Springs is already estimating 3,000 or more weddings this year; a 50% increase from 2014. Already deemed as a popular wedding destination for local Austin residents, brides-and-grooms-to-be are flocking to this area to celebrate their big day from all over the United States and the world. This small town is gathering so much attention for those looking to say their vows and for good reason. Chamber of Commerce executive director, Sherrie Welch, says that, “…this small town has 36 wedding venues in a 17-mile radius alone.” Most likely the beautiful and serene Hill Country views, it’s rustic charm, and gorgeous sunsets are what drawing couples from all over the place to tie the knot.

With 36 venues in this small area, there are many top vendors and venues available for brides and grooms-to-be.

Jason Isaac, House Republican, has commented that Dripping Springs has the “perfect Hill Country setting for a wedding.,,,From elegant to rustic, there is a location for every style and budget.”

For engaged couples looking to save some money on the wedding and reception, many wedding venues offer lesser pricing when a wedding is booked on a Friday or a Sunday. Many venues also offer a discount when the event is paid up front in full which can also help lower the costs of a wedding or reception. Some additional things to look at when booking a wedding venue are: The maximum number of guests the venue can accommodate The number of events the venue hosts in a day The site fee and what it all includes· Any extra costs Can you choose the vendors or does the venue work with an exclusive set Special room rates they can offer guests (if a hotel) Bad weather options

This of course, is just a small list of things to look for when choosing a Hill Country wedding venue.
