Hedsor House in Demand as a Filming Location with the Release of the Film Mortdecai

Nick Shephard, head of filming locations at Hedsor House, the country house wedding, corporate events venue in Buckinghamshire was interviewed on Monday 26th January by Nick Coffer on BBC Three Counties Radio, about the role of Hedsor House in the recently released film Mortdecai.

He talks about Hedsor House’suse as one of the locations for the recently released film Mortdecai starringJohnny Depp, and how Hedsor has become a sought after filming location.

5 days of filming for Mortecai tookplace at Hedsor House, with over 100 cast members and crew being present at theshoot, including Johnny Depp, Olivia Munn and Paul Bettany. Johnny Depp thankedeveryone involved with a personal message in the visitor’s book:  “An absolutely amazing place! Many thanks for allowing usthis visit. Much respect.”


Mortdecai used Hedsor House for the film’sluxury hotel bedroom scene. They filmed in the Boudoir and in the Bridal Suite,which the production team had to quickly return to its usual pristine state assoon as filming finished in readiness for the bride and groom who were gettingmarried there the next day.


Hedsorhas now established itself as an ‘in demand’ filming location


The owners took the decision to marketthe Edwardian Country House as a filming location in 2003, and the filming andgeneral release of Mortedecai represents the culmination of over 12 years ofhard work to establish Hedsor House as a much sought after filming location.


In recent years, the location hashosted some famous films, including The Golden Compass (starring NicoleKidman), Red 2 (starring Bruce Willis), and Dustin Hoffman’s Quartet (starringDame Maggie Smith, Tom Courtenay, Pauline Collins and Michael Gambon).


Nick Shephard says: “Locationmanagers really seem to like the house as it offers total privacy for filming.We are particularly pleased to have been a location for Mortedcai and to havewelcomed Johnny Depp to Hedsor.”
