Webinar explores an emerging technique that works with the addicted person of faith’s core understanding of the Word of God as a means to facilitate 12 step recovery

HB Publications, the publisher of media that aids in addiction recovery, announced today that it will be presenting a webinar on “Reaching the Addicted Person of Faith.” The event will take place on Tuesday, March 28 at noon eastern time. The presentation will include an interview with an individual who has been practicing this method of sobriety as part of his overall program of recovery. It is intended for addiction treatment professionals.
“It can be one of the tragic ironies of the treatment profession. The person of faith, who might be presumed to have the greatest connection with a Higher Power, simply cannot take the first step,” said Boruch Binyamin, the webinar presenter and religious Jewish author of the book “For I Will Be With You,” the year-long book of daily reflections for sobriety based on the Bible. “Addiction is toxic enough to disrupt even the greatest levels of faith. Yet, solutions are available. In this webinar we are going to explore an emerging technique that works with the addicted person of faith’s core understanding of the Word of God as a means to facilitate 12 step recovery.”

The webinar will cover the following topics:
- How to align the Bible and 12 step programs for positive outcomes
- How the Bible can appeal to individual who do not practice any faith
- How to engage the addict of faith with Bible-themed 12 step exercises
- How to use proven materials to help with faith-based recovery
The Bible-based approach to recovery has been successfully used at residential addiction treatment centers.

HB Publications offers a set of 12 step exercise workbooks based on the Five Books of Moses or Pentateuch. These five “For I Will Be With You” workbooks, drawn from Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, respectively, each give readers 31 daily reflections and 12 step journal exercises. The workbooks enable a recovering addict to go through the 12 steps of AA five times in five months using the Bible as inspiration.

The company also publishes an accompanying set of five Instructor Guides designed to help treatment professionals at rehabilitation centers lead discussions based on the Workbooks. Boruch Binyamin is the pseudonym of a 52-year-old man who is in recovery from alcoholism. The books can be ordered at www.hbpubs.com.
