Increasingly, local homeowners are taking the task of selling their homes into their own hands by using such services as Zillows “Make Me Move”, which is a free and easy way to tell others the price a homeowner be willing to sell their home for, without actually putting it on the market. It’s that magical number that a person just can’t refuse.
Such is the case with some local residents who live just a few miles east of Penfield, New York.
As the local housing market began to heat up and multiple news reports came out that demand was exceeding supply, these “empty nesters” thought it may be time to move and take advantage of the hot market, downsize and find something new that suited their current lifestyle.
So they listed their home using the ever popular “Make Me Move” feature on Zillow HERE.
Where else would a house hunter find a totally updated 3346 square foot home, with 4/5 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, modern kitchen, sun room, screened in porch, huge deck, all situated on almost 7 pristine private acres for this price?
According to many of the comparables in the Greater Rochester New York area, not too many places, if any, offer so many features for such a reasonable price. For this particular home, a buyer would only be paying just under $90 per square foot. New home construction costs can be almost double that in today’s market.
As prices for real estate in the most popular suburbs of Rochester New York begin to increase, buyers are finding gems like these just on the outer fringes of those expensive areas.
Homes in those suburbs with similar square footage and amenities have sold for almost $100k more.
This “bargain” seems to be one of those deals that would be hard to pass up if a family is in the market for a new home.
